The Witcher series continues to perform exceptionally well, thanks in part to the brilliant Witcher 3 and also to the well-received Netflix series based on the novels.
The series is doing so well, in fact, that CD Projekt has reported that sales across all of the Witcher games exceeded 50 million copies.
Over 50 million adventurers joined Geralt on his journey from Kaer Morhen to Vizima, through Flotsam and Vergen, Velen and Novigrad to Skellige Isles and Toussaint, and many, many more places, time and time again…

That represents 10 million sales in the past 12 months, which is crazy considering that the Witcher 3 launched 5 years ago.
The Netflix Witcher adaptation has introduced a whole new audience to the Witcher franchise since it aired in December last year. The Witcher 3 also launched on Switch last year and was closely followed by Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales in January 2020. Older Witcher games also experienced an uptick in sales over the past 12 months.
The Witcher hype train is beginning to subside now, but I’m sure CD Projekt will be more focused on making Cyberpunk 2077 the next big video game franchise. In the meantime, the current situation makes this the perfect time to dive back into Geralt’s worn boots.
