No Man’s Sky has come on leaps and bounds since its somewhat disappointing launch in 2016. It has received six expansions since then, some more significant than others, but the No Man’s Sky in 2020 is very different from the one that originally released.
It turns out that Hello Games aren’t done improving No Man’s Sky yet.
Despite having VR support and multiplayer (the second of which was promised for launch, but hey, all is forgiven, right?) then biological ships, Hello Games has confirmed in a post on their website that they “are working up some more ambitious additions to the universe, and have so much more planned for 2020 for us to feel excited about.”
What could Hello Games add? Who knows, but here are some suggestions from us:
- The ability to design your own ship.
- NPCs who you can interact with and squad-up with.
- The ability to change your character’s appearance – their hair, face, race, even alien species – so that you can interact with others in “safe zones” where there is oxygen.
- Space cities – imagine being able to dock and walk around cities on distant planets. It would truly be No Man’s Sky 2.0 at this point!
