Development of an AEW video game is underway. Less than a year after its show Dynamite debuted on TNT, the upstart wrestling is making great strides and has enough of a fanbase to warrant investment in a video game to rival WWE’s declining series.
The game is being actively worked upon by Aubrey Edwards, one of the AEW referees. What?! Oh, wait, Edwards had a career in the video game industry spanning 10 years, working on games for Nintendo, Xbox, Sony, PC and mobile – even working on VR headsets. Edwards started out as a programmer before moving into a producer role.
Edwards is taking a project coordinator role, but her pedigree should put AEW in good stead when it comes to finding an established and reputable developer and publisher to take the AEW video game from concept to reality.
The announcement of development on the AEW video game was made on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho podcast – give it a listen to hear some more insight behind the game.
