Portal and Half-Life 2 Episodes Writer Erik Wolpaw Leaves Valve

Erik Wolpaw has confirmed his departure from Valve after more than a decade with the company. The announcement came in an update on his Facebook page this morning.

Wolpaw joined Valve in 2004, and has worked on a number of the company’s most successful games, including the Portal series, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two, and the Left 4 Dead series.

Prior to joining Valve, Wolpaw was the co-founder of gaming site Old Man Murray and has served as a writer at Double Fine Productions on Psychonauts.

Wolpaw has not given an indication of his next destination following his departure, other than a previous announcement of his collaboration with Double Fine on the forthcoming Psychonauts 2 as a story and dialog collaborator.

We wish Erik Wolpaw all the best in the future – his quality writing speaks for itself.
