BY MAX MOELLER: The Xbox One X is coming. The Xbox One S is just $250. It only makes sense that Microsoft has discontinued the original Xbox One console.
While the X is an uncommon mid-cycle upgrade, the practice of terminating original consoles after a revision is not.
Microsoft has been putting their all into promoting the X, often calling it “The world’s most powerful console,” and this move only furthers that commitment.
It seems to be working, too. The premium console has completely sold out of “Scorpio Edition” pre-orders and set a record as the fastest selling Xbox ever. Only time will tell if they can carry this momentum past its release.
The Xbox One X releases on November 7th, 2017 for $499.
