A glowing PC gaming build

Don’t Buy An iPhone X, Build This Beastly Gaming PC Instead

Apple announced the next iPhone; it’s cool but, well, expensive.  Here’s a powerful gaming PC you could get for less money.

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who balked at the £999/$999 price tag for the 64GB iPhone X and the $1,149/£1,149 price of the 256GB model.  Yes, it’s a sexy looking smartphone, with even more impressive specs than previous Apple offerings with a slightly better battery life but…ouch.

I’m a PC gamer and, as such, I couldn’t help but look at what that kind of money would buy me on the PC market.  It turns out quite a lot.

This one belongs to Terry Crews but you get the idea.

Check this build out:

CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 (£150)
Motherboard: MSI B250 PC Mate (£76)
Memory: Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 (£148)
SSD Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB (£88)
HDD Storage: WD Blue 1TB HDD (£43)
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 Windforce OC GeForce GTX1070 (£395)
Case: Game Max Nero MATX Computer Case (£25)
Power Supply: Corsair CP-9020122-UK CX Series 650W (£61)
Total Price: £986

If you’re looking for a monitor, keyboard and mouse to add to your new monster gaming PC, you could check out the ASUS VS248HR (£120) and get a keyboard and mouse combo (£23).  The total?  £1,129.  You can spend the remaining £20 on video games to get you started.

So, yes, you could spend £999-£1,149 on a new iPhone, or you could spend it on a beastly gaming PC.  Or, y’know, rent and bills (I recommend the PC).
