There is seriously no reason why you should buy the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. Seriously.
I don’t need to tell you the reason for the bundle, but I’m going to anyway. The bundle has been launched to raise $5 million to support those protesting against racial inequality following the murder of George Floyd. The murder was not an isolated incident and it is about time that people wake up and see that we are all the same, each and every single one of us.
At the time of writing, the bundle has raised over $4,800,000 of its $5,000,000 goal, with the largest donation being $5,000.
You need to buy the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. There is absolutely no conceivable reason not to.
The fact that the money goes towards a good cause should be reason enough, as the money raised is split between NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund. It is a rare opportunity to help to make a small difference while still getting one heck of a good deal for yourself.
Speaking of the “good deal”, that’s reason number 2. There are over 1,500 games in the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. Now, my Steam pile of shame is already ridiculous, but wow. Just wow. And, you can get these 1,500+ games for just $5 if that is all you wish to spend – though I’d urge you to spend more, knowing where the money is going.
Sure, a significant number of the games included are titles you may have never heard of, but you could be one click away from a hidden gem that turns out to be your new favourite game. If you’re only interested in big name titles, then try these: Celeste (which we reviewed – it is amazing), Oxenfree, Luna, Night in the Woods, A Short Hike, Minit and Hidden Folks. One of these games by itself would be worth the minimum donation, and you get them all – and more. A lot more.
I think that it is important that we remember the developers who have donated their games to this cause. Effectively giving away their titles will affect their earnings both immediately and for months to come, and they deserve our support for their future projects.
