The Mass Effect trilogy are honestly some of the best games I have ever played. Don’t let the backlash that surrounded the third entry’s ending put you off – this is a truly exceptional story that ticks all of the boxes for sci-fi fans.

With three games and almost all of their DLC included, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition offers an unforgettable adventure and is undoubtedly one of the best games to play while you wait for Starfield.

The art direction is very different, and No Mans Sky is unlikely to hold a candle to Starfield’s story, but in terms of the gameplay loop, there is likely to be a lot of similarities.

You can also play No Mans Sky in VR, which is pretty sweet.
