There’s A Full Game Hiding In Google.com’s Source Code

In a day and age when tech companies try to hide unscrupulous secrets, it’s nice to see a technology giant hiding something fun for their users.

It’s not clear how long it has been hidden, waiting to be discovered, but there’s a full text adventure game hiding in the source code of Google Chrome.  The game’s existence was revealed on Reddit by Redditor attempt_number_1.

To access the game, open Google Chrome and navigate to Google.com (not Google.co.uk or another Google site).  Next, search for “text adventure”  and hit Ctrl+Shift+I.  Would you like to play a game? (yes/no)” will be revealed.

The objective of the game is to locate the missing letters of the Google logo using simple text directions – north, south, east, and west – and the actions “grab” and “inventory”.

Enjoy!
