Among Us Looks Stunning in Full 3D

Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past several months (and, let’s be honest, no one would blame you), you’ll know that Among Us has been one of this year’s biggest surprise smash hits, despite having been released back in 2018.

Whether you have five minutes or five hours, Among Us the perfect game to play with your friends or random strangers.  Whether you’re an Imposter doing the lying and killing or a Crewmate playing Columbo, Among Us has the ability to turn minutes into hours.  I’ve personally only ever played the free mobile version, but have had a blast playing it for the past several months with complete strangers.

Back in September, developer Innersloth announced that the sequel to Among Us had been put on hold so that they can put their full focus into continuing to support the original.  But that hasn’t stopped fans of the game coming up with some incredible glimpses into what Among Us 2 could be like.

Redditor Iambackit is one such fan, who has created an incredible 3D version of Among Us using Unreal Engine 4.  Doing away with the stylised cartoon visuals of the original, the 3D version adopts realistic graphics to recreate the Skeld map combined with the original’s iconic crewmates.

While I highly doubt that the Among Us sequel will make the jump to a realistic 3D world, I’d love to have the opportunity to play Iambackit’s 3D remake with a group of friends.  The dynamics would undoubtedly be completely different and there may be gameplay balancing issues introduced, but it looks beautiful and would surely still retain much of the magic of the original.
